Tyres are incredibly durable, which is excellent news for where we use them to keep our vehicles on the road, but not so good news when tires become damaged or simply worn out. They are non-biodegradable, so rather than watch them being dumped on landfills across the country, we are choosing products that contribute to their re-use.

Rubber mulch is one example of a product giving tires a new purpose as it reuses recycled tire rubber. Initial material looks not dissimilar to scraps paper shredder would produce. These pieces are colour coated to create six basic tones: dark brown, medium brown, beige, dark green, fresh green and red. If you are eager to see your project completed, it is an exciting product to choose, as its curing process varies between 6 and 24 hours (depending on temperature and weather conditions), and full use of the surface for areas with heavy footfall can be allowed after three days from application.

Even though some colour fading may occur in areas exposed to UV light, the advantages of rubber mulch outweigh this little drawback: it is a durable material, easy to apply and giving fast, pleasing results.
